We ended the week with another victory, making us 3-0 for the Week. Members are making smart attacks, and have been taking ownership of the clan. We also had 3 members receive promotions. Congratulations to Seth, Steve Zissou and Jamm on making Elder. Keep up the great work everyone.
We are 6-1-0 in our last seven wars, and now have 22 wins total. We are gaining momentum fast. In just one week since our split with The Pub, we haven't lost a war and our membership has more than tripled. We started with 4 members and 8 accounts, to now just over 20 members and 30 accounts in 7 days. Well done team. Level 5, here we come!
(3.2) Many people feel Clash of Clans is just a game and should be treated as such. I don't disagree with this opinion; however, I do have an opinion of my own that I would like to share. I don't want to be in a clan with people who have no desire to develop their skills. I guess this might just be me, because this is the general attitude I have in all areas of my life. I want to be around people who want to be the best at what they do. Furthermore, dare I say that Clash of Clans is more than just a game. What if I said COC is an ancient idea? What if as a result of human-technological advancement, it is the culmination of an age-old desire to be united with other characteristically unique and culturally diverse people, and joined together by a common interest? When I look at the game Clash of Clans, I am reminded of what many great teachers throughout history have proclaimed. I'm reminded of Martin Luther King Jr's Dream, one where people of different races and ideologies come together and actually enjoy one another's company, instead of engaging in behavior that enables segregation while creating a world full of hurt and pain. When I see what COC is doing on a global scale, I see it accomplishing what government and religious systems have failed to do for 100's of years. COC is bringing people from different nations, religions and socio-economic backgrounds together. Not only that, but people of different cultures are coming together and enjoying one another's company. So maybe, perhaps, COC is the first game worthy of being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? Did I really just ask that question? My response: why not? It's secrete that COC is joining people from all over the world together, and it's doing it in ways like never before. The friendships I have made with my clan-mates are real. I know these people because of the game, therefore my life has been enriched because of the game. I have opportunity to communicate with people from multiple countries and continents on a daily basis. How many people in the history of the world can say such a thing? I take these sort of things seriously. In Clash of Clans, I've met people who were recently widowed, people going through a divorce, people who have suffered the loss of a child, and people sick with stage 4 cancer. Dear I say, I've met people who have experienced life much like I have. So, with all this in mind, lets become better at this game, because, after all, this game has made us better at being human.
A great way to develop your own defensive and offensive COC skills is to learn from the top players in the world. Many people don't realize, but you can view the top 200 players and top 200 clans in the world right from your village while playing the game. Here's how you do it: (Follow illustration pictures below) Click on the trophy icon on the top left part of your screen. Next, click on the Top Clans' and Top Players' folder on the top of the screen. Here you will be able to view the best players in the world. (And remember, COC has been downloaded on over 100 million devices. Being in the top 200 is truly an incredible accomplishment.) Why do this you ask? Simple. There are several reasons. The first and most obvious reason is to observe the best villages and implement their defense strategies into our own bases. Another reason is, top players don't typically post their offensive and defensive strategies on Youtube, or any other web site for that matter (with an exception of a few players, such as the players in the videos we have posted in our "Attacks" page...for your viewing pleasure of course). They gather together with their clan mates and develop their own attack strategies. The goal then is, by observing their villages we will learn to develop our own COC skills by (1) monitoring top player's troop compositions and (2) understanding how effective attacks are created. This will help us (3) become better Clashers, as we work together with our teammates to devlope our skills. Let me explain it a little more :
(1) Pay attention to which troops top players are using. This will give you an indication as to what types of troop compositions they are using both for farming and for war. Some clans are war clans, and therefore war all the time (The first clans that come to mind are U.S.A, Lost Phoenix, Fully Loaded, VIP and 300). Keep an eye out for certain players in these clans (I suggest looking for players with the most amount of war stars. For example, tomlubniewski of the Clan 300 is almost at 700 war stars). If at one point in the day the player has low coast troops which render high success farming and trophy pushing numbers (such as loonian or lavaloonian attacks) then the player is most likely farming. If at some point in the day that same player's troops are drastically different, such as having high coast troops designed for war (like golems, witches, hounds and pekkas) then this is most likely their troop composition for War. Going back to number 1, why do this you ask? Well, because high level players are always pushing to find the most effective attack strategies, and when they create a mastermind attack, they don't share it with anyone out side of their clan, let alone the average COC player. Top 200 clans are constantly battling against each other, always learning from one another (i.e. always learning from the best). This leaves the rest of us googling attack methods trying to learn what top players have already learned months ago. Sound lame for us? Yes! But there is something we can do about this. Which leads us to number two: (2) All great new attacks are basically innovative-surgical-hybrid attacks. Like all great innovations, 90% of these attacks are based off of already existing attack methods and troop compositions (Such as GoWiWi, GoHog, GoWiPe...you get the point), leaving only 10% of the attack new. In other words, top players are not reinventing the wheel. Instead, they are building off of attack methods that you and I already know, only, top players are a few months a head of us. However, it is important to understand that successful high level players have the ability to adapted each troop composition to the peculiarity of the base. This I mean in regards to war. Trophy pushers use one attack all the time and search for bases that fit that attack. War specialists study bases and build their troops around the base, attempting to exploit any and all weaknesses. With this information in mind, and along with the fact that there is very good material already available on the internet (which is one of the things The Spy House is determined to demonstrate) leaves us with a good chance of doing some innovating of our own. So, now, at last, the conclusion: (3) By learning from the material available, and by observing current top player troop compositions, we can begin to evolve our very own attack methods within our very own clans. The best way any one player can do this is by joining a clan where the members share a similar like-mindedness as the individual player. Much like the individual (this I assume is you because, well, anyone who reads about COC on the internet is interested in developing their skills), clan members should always strive to develop their skills while possessing a passion and desire for becoming the best player possible. In essence, If you want to become a legit contender then you should surround yourself around people who want the same. |
